Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and skilled Storeman to join our clients team based at their head office in Portsmouth.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in managing inventory and utilise forklifts for efficient warehouse operations. You must be skilled in using inventory management systems and IT tools is essential. The Storeman will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse, maintaining stock accuracy, and supporting the logistics team.
Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom. Maintain accurate inventory records using IT systems (e.g., ERP software). Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy. Manage stock levels and report any discrepancies or shortages. Assist in loading and unloading vehicles to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods. Forklift Operation: Operate forklifts to move, stack, and organize stock within the warehouse. Ensure the safe handling of goods and compliance with health and safety standards. Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse and stockroom clean, organized, and safe. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of warehouse equipment. Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement processes for warehouse operations. IT Proficiency: Use inventory management software and other IT tools to maintain stock control. Input data accurately into IT systems for tracking and reporting purposes. Support the adoption of new technologies and systems within the warehouse environment. Qualifications:Certified forklift operator. Proven experience in warehouse operations and inventory management. Proficient in using inventory management software and basic IT tools. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and attention to to detail. Physical
Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy items as part of the role. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
